True to the neoclassical ideal, Canova, in his later creative period, depicted ancient deities who, according to legend, personify feminine charm . The composition is compact and balanced and, for its time, represented a new approach, moving away from classical antiquity. Contemporaries claimed the statue was more beautiful than the beauties themselves.
The Three Graces stand around an altar, their eyes fixed on themselves. On the altar lie three flower wreaths and a garland, symbolizing their tender bond.
The sculpture is a heavy bronze cast from Germany, created around 1990. It comes from an estate originating in Lübeck and is a truly unique piece .
Enrich your home with this high-quality nude figure of the Three Graces. Classic art for your garden.
