Czech artist Michal Trpák studied at the Academy of Art and Design in Prague and has been working as a freelance artist since 2007. Trpák is an extremely busy man who not only cares about his own artistic work and its presentation at home and abroad.
As a sculptor, Trpák works in sandstone, wood, fiberglass, and bronze, primarily for public spaces. His sculptural work is accompanied by an intensive engagement with the intended installation site. Sculpture, he says, has always been closely linked to architecture, even if this has often been denied in modern times.
The subject of architecture preoccupies him anyway – he designed his sculpture studio himself together with an architect.
