"Happy Faces" is a mural by Brazilian ceramist Selma Calheira. The artist wanted to express the hospitality and vitality of the Brazilian people and created an ensemble of inviting, smiling faces.

The faces are handmade in Brazil from ceramic and are painted white, optionally also available with a bronze color accent.

The picture itself, or rather the white, 2cm deep base plate, is signed by the artist.

Selma Calheira

In den fünfziger Jahren gründete sie im Alter von 38 Jahren ihr eigenes Keramikstudio und nannte es Cores da Terra – Farben der Erde. Calheira hat diesen Namen gewählt, da er einen ihrer Kernwerte widerspiegelt, nämlich nachhaltige Kunst zu machen. Die Arbeit von Selma Calheira ist verspielt und dennoch raffiniert.
