Vase "Ita 03" by Susana Bastos & Marcelo Alvarenga

The minimalist ITA 03 vase is crafted from milled Brazilian soapstone and was designed by siblings Susana Bastos and Marcelo Alvarenga. Inspired by Brazil's indigenous Tupi peoples, the designers adorned the vase with wooden and brass ornaments that reference traditional Tupi body accessories. Furthermore, the word "ita" in the Tupi language translates into English as "stone."

Soapstone is a naturally porous stone that should not come into contact with water or other liquids. The color of soapstone can vary from a soft beige to bright blue and silvery gray.
