She embodies the feminine deity itself. Her name means both "star" and "savior." In Tibet, she is called "Dölma," which simply means mother. There, she is venerated as the mother of all Buddhas. Her right hand is directed downward in the gesture of granting wishes, while her left hand shows the gesture of granting protection. Her open, outstretched leg position symbolizes her quick readiness to help and assist others.
