Sculpture "Pinocchio" by Pantaleo Musarò

Pinocchio is a well-known fictional character from an Italian children's novel by the Italian author Carlo Collodi. Pantaleo Musarò, an Italian ceramicist interested in psychology, human behavior, and character traits, created the ceramic figure Pinocchio, inspired by the fairy tale.

Pinocchio is part of a series of ceramic figurines that reflect various aspects of human nature. The series shows us how people try to hide their vulnerability by behaving in certain ways. Pinocchio, sitting on a transparent bubble with his nose in the air, represents someone who lives in his own world and cannot distinguish between fiction and reality. A Plexiglas casing emphasizes the figure's detachment from the world.

This work of art is handmade in Italy, the nose is covered with 24-carat Venetian gold leaf.
