Sculpture "Langkawi Collection Offspring" by Stefan Schöning

As a tribute to the worldwide tradition of mask-making, Belgian designer Stefan Schöning has now created his own decorative mask collection called Langkawi. The five anthropomorphic designs are named after Langkawi, a Malaysian island home to skilled woodcarvers and the beautiful hardwood used for this collection.

The masks exude rhythm and are symmetrical in their asymmetry, reflecting Schöning's minimalist style. The collection includes five masks: Eclipse, Elephant, Offspring, Sunrise, and Toucan (the latter is also available as a limited-edition bronze sculpture in two different sizes).
