Bronze sculpture "Face to face" by Jamie Salmon

'Face to face' is a self-portrait of the artist as a fragile man: Jamie Salmon plays with the perfect illusion and at the same time skillfully undoes it.

Perfect appearance is not the ultimate goal of his work; rather, Jamie Salmon is concerned with the viewer's perception of their own perception. In the series of fragments, of which "Face to Face" is the fourth, he consequently breaks the illusion himself, and quite literally: The hyper-precise depiction of the body and physiognomy is accompanied by a multiply broken and shattered, fragmented surface.

Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, hand-chiseled and patinated.
