In his series "Tango Death Dancers," Spiekermann, himself a passionate dancer, combines the joyful and sensual tango dance with the medieval motif of the Dance of Death. His death, however, is not a bogeyman, but rather someone who reminds us to celebrate and enjoy life—precisely because, no matter our age, it is "encompassed" by death.

The set includes :

Tango Couple Summer : Height : 16 cm. Width : 7 cm. Depth : 8 cm.
Tango Couple Spring : Height : 18 cm. Width : 7 cm. Depth : 7 cm.
Tango Couple Autumn : Height : 16 cm. Width : 8 cm. Depth : 6 cm.

The set, limited to only 99 pieces, was made using the lost-wax casting process and is hand-chiseled and patinated.

Uwe Spiekermann

Uwe Spiekermann, Sohn eines Steinbildhauers, hatte gerade seine eigene Steinbildhauerlehre abgeschlossen, als er im Alter von nur 21 Jahren den Steinmetzbetrieb seines verstorbenen Vaters übernahm. Ein wichtiges, wenn auch bei weitem nicht das einzige Thema seiner bildnerischen Arbeit ist das Gebiet der Sepulkralkultur.
