Collection: Ottmar Hörl

Ottmar Hörl studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main from 1975 to 1979, followed by a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation, which enabled him to continue his studies at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Klaus Rinke from 1979 to 1981.

Ottmar Hörl's works are represented in numerous private and public collections in Germany and abroad. His sculptures, installations, and projects cannot be assigned to any clear style—they are as diverse as his themes. At the heart of his work is his exploration of everyday culture , which he translates into artistic form.

For Hörl, sculpture is not an isolated art object, but an organizational principle —inspired by the functional, standardized design of our everyday environment. He became particularly well-known for large-scale installations in public spaces, in which he combined serial sculptures with social or cultural-historical themes.
